 OPENINGS FOR COMMITTEE CHAIRS:

  • WELCOME COMMITTEE: We need a chair and some volunteers. Occasionally, new students join Still during the school year. We would like to form a Welcome Committee to welcome these students and their families to our community, especially since a mid-year transition can be tough.  Time Commitment: 1-2 hours
  • STILL SPORTS BOOSTERS: This is a new idea. It would be great to have volunteers cheering for our Still students at various games and meets.
  • CONCESSIONS: Teachers often ask the PTA to help sell concessions at various events. It would be great to have a dedicated committee just for this. So far this year, the PTA has already coordinated volunteers for a Wrestling Meet, a Robotics Club Competition, and the Science Fair.
  • STUDENTS OF DISTINCTION: These volunteers help organize the students of distinction breakfasts.
  • RED RIBBON: These volunteers help with Red Ribbon week.
  • LMC VOLUNTEERS: These volunteers help throughout the year by volunteering in the school library media center.

If you are interested in the above programs, please email stillptsa@gmail.com and fill out the form above!

Thank you to the following Committee Chairs:

  • Fundraising: Susan Avery, Chair. Coordinates Still PTA fundraising drives.
  • Restaurant Night: Stacey Wing, Chair. Arranges restaurant nights for Still families.
  • Bulldog Bash: Marylee Leu and Beth Moltomyr, co-chairs. This committee coordinates the concession sales at the school dances, known as Bulldog Bashes.
  • Reflections: Ann Pachapa, Chair. Coordinates the IPSD 204-sponsored arts and writing contest, known as Reflections, each fall.
  • Teacher Appreciations: Beth Nelson, Chair. This committee coordinates meals for the teachers provided by the PTA throughout the year as well as Secretaries Day and Teacher Appreciation Week.
  • Box TopsArchana Sarkar, Chair. Organizes the collection of Box Tops, along with their submission for money for the PTA.

Please email stillptsa@gmail.com if you are interested or have questions or suggestions. Have an idea for a committee you don't see here? Let us know!

CAMPAIGN EXTENDED THOUGH THE END OF NOVEMBER!!
The Still PTA would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your generous contributions toward our Incredible Minds at Still campaign.

We are only at 47% of our goal of raising $14,000 but are proud of all the donations received in the past two weeks and are very grateful for all of your support!  With the funds we collect we will be able to continue PTA programs that further the growth of our Still Middle School community which will benefit our kids 100%!

The Wish Box wishes for Still were incredible and student prizes will be awarded this week.  Thank you to all the students that participated!  You help make our school great! A list of wishes for Still will be posted on our Still PTA website in the near future.

We will continue to accept donations through the end of November!  Remember that our write a check fundraiser was meant to be an easy way for our busy families to make an impact on our school.  Unlike traditional fundraising programs, 100% of the funds raised during this fundraiser go back to Still.

Additionally, if your company has a matching gift program, we are happy to provide the appropriate non-profit paperwork needed for you to submit the forms to your company.  Please contact us at stillptsa@gmail.com.

We live in an awesome community, fellow Bulldogs.  Let’s keep it going!  Click the DONATE button above to support the PTA.  Thank you!

We are off to a great start with the IM@Still campaign, the highlight being OUR STUDENTS!!!  You may have heard about the Wish Box in the lunchroom and how our INCREDIBLE students have already participated by sharing their ideas about how to spend funds on things that would benefit all students in the school.   We have already received dozens of fantastic and thoughtful ideas!  We are very proud of our kids at Still…..keep those ideas coming!  We are hoping for 100% participation!  The top 10 ideas at the end of the campaign will receive a $10 Gift Card!

11/6/2017 Update:

Dear Still Community,

Our IM@Still fundraiser has begun! Some of you may be wondering what that is! It stands for Incredible Minds at Still, which we believe is all of us helping our kids reach their full potential! This is a once-a-year fundraiser where we ask our families to donate money to our PTA programs instead of asking you to help with other fundraising efforts. Unlike traditional fundraisers like wrapping paper and magazine sales, 100% of the funds raised during this fundraiser go back to Still. Our Goal this year is to raise $14,000 in 14 days! Here's what we want to use this money for:

  1. Our biggest expense is for grade level activities of $5,800, including 6th grade Greek studies program, 7th grade Mystery Shop, 8th Grade Holocaust study and field trips and year end activities. The school counts on us for this.
  2. Still Gives program to help our own Still Families in need : $4,000
  3. Teacher Grants to support classroom instruction: $3,200
  4. Other Programs: Students of Distinction, Red Ribbon, Reflections, LMC books and supplies, IPPC scholarship fund, Spring Family Celebration: $1,000

Please be on the look out for a form going home with your child on Monday. We know that together we can continue to build a strong and INCREDIBLE Still Middle School Community!

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERY VOLUNTEER!
This is the final PTA News for the 2016-2017 school year. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who did so much this year! This includes people who donated to concession sales and volunteered at Teacher Appreciation, people who volunteered for Red Ribbon Week, Students of Distinction, LMC Volunteers, Bulldog Bash, Coat Drive— our Coordinators who organized School Supply Kit Sales, Reflections, Teacher Appreciation, Restaurant Nights and Box Tops. A big thank you to all the people involved in our amazing fundraisers: IM@STILL Parts One and Two! Thanks also to our amazing Board who helped organize all the activities and volunteers, and administered the Teacher Grants. It would be amazing to list every person who volunteered their time, energy and/or money to Still PTA this year, but there are too many to list! We are so fortunate to have such an amazing community at Still Middle School!

MONEY
What we made: The Still PTA brought in a lot of money this year for our school! We kicked off the year by applying for and receiving a grant for $30,000 from the Dunham Fund, all of which went to renovating our LMC. In addition, the very successful IM@STILL Fundraisers brought in approximately $13,000! This money, combined with proceeds from Membership dues and donations, Restaurants Nights, Bulldog Bash Concessions, about $9000 total, gave us an opportunity to do some great things this year. How we spent it: Where did the money go? We gave approximately $6,000 to the school to subsidize year-end celebrations for every student at Still. We spent $4000 on Still Gives, an amazing program run by the school that helps Still Families struggling during the holiday season. We spent approximately $5500 on Teacher Grants which ranged from buying podiums for the Music Department, to cameras for the Art Department, to teaching aids for core teachers. We also used money to sponsor a STEM Movie Night. We spent around $1800 on Teacher Appreciation, which includes meals throughout the year as well as special gifts for Secretary's Day and Teacher Appreciation Week. We also spent money on required expenses such as dues to the Illinois PTA, the Indian Prairie Parents Council (IPPC), insurance and taxes. Finally, we end the year with a strong reserve for next year's STILL PTA to support even more activities and events for our faculty, staff and students.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? If you like the way the Still PTA is going or have suggestions or comments on how we can do better, let us know -- or even better, JOIN US!!

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!! To those moving on to high school, enjoy your new adventure! And to the rest, we'll see you next year!
