PTA News for Week of 3/20
Reported by email@example.com on 3/20/17
VOTE ON APRIL 4! The upcoming local elections are especially important to Still Middle School parents as this election will decide 4 of the members of the IPSD School Board for the next four years. Right now, the State of Illinois owes IPSD 204 $15 million and a property tax freeze is likely to pass in Springfield: both of these developments directly impact how our schools are funded. This means the budget cuts are very likely to come to our district in the very near future. Don't you want a say in electing the people who will decide where to cut and where to spend at our schools in the coming years? Take the time to learn a little about the candidates. Here is a link to the Candidate Forum which IPSD 204 held on March 7: http://204tv.org/ Here is a link to an article in the Daily Herald where the candidates were interviewed about class size: http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20170306/news/170309335/ Also, please see the attached Voter's Guide which includes a questionnaire filled out by each candidate.

This Committee will present a full slate of candidates running for Board positions for the Still PTA for 2017-2018. If you are interested in serving on the PTA Board, please email firstname.lastname@example.org asap. The list of candidates will be posted on April 17, 2017.
BOX TOPS: Seventh Grade are the big winners! A great prize is coming your way, Seventh Graders, we are just waiting to hear back from the Principal with the final details. Thanks to the other grades for bringing in those box tops. Don't stop sending them in, by the way. Each one equals 10 cents, and these contributions add up to hundreds of dollars for our faculty and students! It's free money, so let's not pass it up.
PTA Meetings: Thanks to the fantastic Linda Herwaldt, Health Services Coordinator for 204, for an amazing talk at our last PTA meeting. Our final PTA Meeting is May 16 at 6:30pm in the Still LMC. Elections for the 2017-2018 Still PTA Board will take place. Please join us, all are welcome!
