Still Students win awards at Chicago land art Show

Congratulations to 6th grade student Sarah Abu Khadra for her 2nd place finish at the first ever Chicagoland 4x5 middle school show. Along with Sarah, Hannah Reyes, Jasmine Dike, and Lily Nitsche received honorable mentions.

The Chicagoland 4x5 Art Exhibition is hosted by Oswego High School. This is a prestigious honor because only the most accomplished work has been chosen out of the thousands of possible works. When attending the opening, please enter through door 37 on the stadium side of the school. Doors open at 5:00 pm with music and refreshments on Wednesday, November 6th. The awards ceremony starts at 7:30 pm in the Barnes Performing Arts Center (Auditorium).
The Chicagoland 4x5 Art Exhibition has an impressive legacy dating back to early 2000.
New this year is our jr. high/middle school levels were 3 different media categories. These works came from schools as far north as Zion, far west as DeKalb, far south as Joliet and one from another state, Indiana!
The exhibition has 178 works selected to receive awards. 1st, 2nd 3rd place and ten (10%)percent from each category earning Honorable Mention will have their work recognized at the opening, plus exhibited at Water Street Studio Gallery in Batavia on Friday, December 13th and the Illinois High School Art Exhibition in Chicago at the Zhou B Art Center on Sunday, March 8th. The Chicagoland 4x5 Reception will include a Portfolio Day where 13 art colleges/universities will be available to review students’ artwork from 5:00-7:00 pm. Our award winning student Jazz Ensembles be providing music along with our award-winning student Culinary Program providing FOOD for all our guests! The evening will close with an Awards Ceremony recognizing all award-winning students who received 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Honorable Mention at 7:30 pm in the auditorium.
