In Preparation for Veteran’s Day ~ November 11
Honoring All Who Served!

Dear Still Families,

With Veteran’s Day approaching, we would like to let you know about an activity we are planning in order to recognize and honor those members of the Still community who have served, or are currently serving in the armed forces. The staff and students of Still Middle School truly appreciate their service, and the sacrifices they have made for our country.

We will be creating a ‘Wall of Honor’ in our main entrance on which we will be displaying photographs and information about our veterans. We are asking that students bring a picture of their veteran along with information about their service. We are not only recognizing parents, but also siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, as well as other family members.

The following are the guidelines for those who would like to participate.
1. Please do not send an original. We would prefer a printed/scanned copy.
2. We would love to receive a photo of your veteran in his/her military attire. However, if one is not available, any photo will do.
3. On a separate piece of paper, please provide the following information:
-- Veteran’s name
-- The branch of the armed services in which the veteran served/serves
-- The dates of service (you only need to provide the years)
-- Highest rank
-- Location(s) of deployment

Please send the photo and information to school with your student in a sealed envelope. We ask that you write your student’s name and team number, and the words “Veteran’s Day” on the envelope, and have him/her give it to the main office. We will return the photograph prior to winter break. Photos must be received no later than October 26th.

If you prefer, you may submit your photo and information electronically to jonathan_pardys@ipsd.org

Thanks so much! We look forward to partnering with you to honor our veterans.
